Main objectives of the position:

Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator (M/F) is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day coordination of the site’s HR activities and deputising for the HR Superintendent during periods of absence, in order to ensure continuity of service and compliance of HR operations with company policies and local regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the on-site HR department (payroll, personnel administration, time management and attendance).
  • Supervise the local HR team and ensure compliance with internal procedures and the National Labor Code.
  • Liaise between mining operations, HR and support departments.
  • Validate staff movements (local hires, internal transfers, absences, departures).
  • Monitors the maintenance of administrative personnel records and contract compliance.
  • Manage relations with staff representatives, trade unions and local authorities when necessary.
  • Participate in the implementation of HR policies: training, skills development, occupational health and safety.
  • Analyze HR indicators (headcount, absenteeism, rotation) and produce weekly reports.
  • Support the HR Superintendent in the deployment or monitoring of HR projects.
  • Ensure the complete interim of the HR Superintendent during his break periods: HR representation, daily decision-making, reporting.

Profil

Knowledge / Skills and Competencies:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Guinean labour law and the Collective Agreement for Mines and Quarries.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Have analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good managerial skills to obtain commitments and achieve the objectives of the human resources department.
  • Good command of the Office Pack.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in case of emergency.
  • Ability to work in a team and supervise a team.
  • Integrity, rigor, analytical skills, negotiation skills and team spirit.

Experience required:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of human resources management, ideally with experience in a mining industry environment, including three (3) years in a supervisory position preferably in the mining sector.
  • Previous experience in recruitment, personnel evaluation, compensation and benefits.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a multidisciplinary team and from different geographic locations.

Experience working in an organization with multiple locations within a matrix structure requiring tremendous communication and negotiation skills.

Language Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English (is a great asset).
  • Proficiency in the local language – Malinké appreciated​
