To ensure that cost efficient Safe Electrical maintenance is achieved in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner. Assist in maximisation of gold production with the available resources including personnel, workshop, equipment and external providers.
- Supervise Electrical high voltage and low voltage installation, maintenance and repairs on equipment throughout the plant.
- Manage a multidisciplinary maintenance team of High voltage and low voltage electricians and assistants.
- Ensure quality of workmanship meets the required site standards.
- Assist in development and continuous improvement of maintenance planning and preventative maintenance programs. To have all installations to a Global electrical standard.
- Ensure that sufficient stock levels of critical spares are available.
- Maintain safety, housekeeping and environmental standards relative to the process plant.
1) Ensure all safe work systems, procedures and standards are adhered to through frequent inspections of the workplace
i) Conduct routine area inspections, on the job inspections and post job completion inspection to ensure standards are met.
ii) Review JSA’s on a regular basis to ensure all hazards are identified and controls are in place
iii) Promote and develop work procedures for high risk or routine maintenance tasks
2) Provide communication and consultation of safety related matters to the work teams on electrical standards and LOTO of electrical equipment
3) Manage day to day maintenance planned and unplanned
i) Ensure planned work is executed daily in safe, efficient and effective manner
ii) Ensure maintenance PMs are completed to site standards and requirements.
4) Manage shutdown maintenance planned and unplanned
i) Ensure that all planned shutdown work that is scheduled has a clear defined scope, resources and time frame to repair is adequate
ii) Work groups are engaged with clear expectations on all the deliverables
iii) Ensure emergent work is reviewed on a priority basis
iv) Ensure work orders, scope of work, work methods and resources are available prior to commencement of work
5) Utilise available resources effectively and efficiently to meet department targets
i) Liaise with the maintenance planner to ensure weekly schedules are scheduled to the maintenance capacities.
ii) Liaise with other departments regarding Planned power outages ahead of time
6) Ensure site and statutory requirements are not compromised
i) Ensure all statutory inspections are conducted when scheduled.
ii) Ensure issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
iii) Perform RCA on equipment failures related to electrical installations and equipment
7) Utilise and maintain maintenance systems of work in accordance with the Asset Management System.
i) Ensure the work management system is followed and adhered too
8) Ensure work teams have clear direction and work expectations.
i) All work orders will have a clear define work scope
ii) All verbal instructions will be clear and direct, covering of the following: context, purpose, quality, quantity, results and timing.
Profil
- Experienced with High Voltage (6.6KV) and Low Voltage (400V) electrical installations, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs and HVAC systems.
- A good working knowledge of gold process plant.
- A good working knowledge of maintenance planning systems and Asset Management Systems.
- Must Have MV reticulation experience regarding maintenance/installations and Fault finding
- Licenced Electrician in HV and LV. Switching of MV
- Minimum 5 years maintenance experience on electrical fixed plant.
- Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in Gold Process Plant
- Proven supervisory skills to lead a team of tradesman.
- Must have an International recognised certificate of competency
