Description du poste
Main objectives:
- The Health & Safety & Emergency Response Team (ERT) Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by developing and implementing emergency plans and procedures at the site. He plays a key role in risk prevention, emergency response, as well as in the training and development of ERT teams
- He is also responsible for ensuring that operations comply with health and safety regulations and ensures that best practices are applied to protect personnel and facilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
Emergency Management & Rapid Response
- Develop, implement and regularly update emergency plans and procedures
- Provide supervision and management of the ERT team on-site
- Be the first responder in the event of an accident and coordinate rescue actions
- Assess the condition of the injured and administer basic first aid competently
- Ensure bleeding control, immobilization of fractures and safety of victims
- Arrange for the evacuation and transport of the wounded to appropriate medical centres
- Supervise and facilitate the evacuation of personnel in the event of an emergency
- Collect and analyze information during emergency response to produce learning and continuous improvement reports
- Implement emergency simulation exercises to test and improve existing procedures
Risk Prevention & Security Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations
- Identify and report any potential threats in the workplace to the appropriate managers
- Ensure that all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company standards and procedures
- Ensure that risk management plans are properly followed and implemente
- Maintain all statutory and internal reports related to safety and emergency respons
- Monitor and analyze trends and incidents related to emergencies and propose corrective actions
Team Development & Training
- Supervise and provide technical support to the members of the ERT team
- Organize and deliver regular training on: disaster management procedures
- The use of rescue and firefighting equipment
- Advanced first aid protocols
- Emergency preparedness and response
- To train and maintain a qualified mine rescue team
- Encourage communication and collaboration between team members and relevant departments
Safety Management & Leadership
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety, the environment and social responsibility
- Ensure that each team member is fit for duty and meets safety requirements
- Ensure the implementation and enforcement of all agreed security measure
- Encourage a proactive safety culture within the organization
Profil
Knowledge / Skills & Skill
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in emergency management
- Mastery of first aid and firefighting tools and equipment
- Ability to conduct incident investigations and propose corrective actions
- Strong crisis management and quick decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies calmly and efficiently
- Sense of initiative and strong problem-solving skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and strengthening of safety culture
Training/Education Requirements:
- Degree in Health & Safety, Risk Management, Emergency Relief, or related field
- Certification in advanced first aid, firefighting, and emergency management is a plus
Experience required
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a similar role in health, safety and emergency management
- Experience in high-risk industrial environments (mining, construction, oil and gas, etc.)
- Experience in managing and training emergency response teams (ERTs)
