Principal Job Objectives:
The Maintenance Superintendent General Services reports to the Maintenance Manager or Alt Manager and is responsible for the supervision and direction of KGM and Contractor maintenance personnel to ensure that levels of availability are maintained to meet production requirements. The position is responsible for the management of the KGM equipment functions from short/long term planning, unscheduled and scheduled work. Follow the KGM safety and health policies & procedures.
1. Planning, Leading, Organizing, Controlling preventative maintenance and plant availability
2. Implementation of improvements and carrying out actions based on plans and investigation outcomes
3. Reporting & Data Control
4. To assist in management when needed and if manager is off site
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planning Participate in suggesting new ideas/proposals, as well as encouraging others to improve the Outside section engineering planned maintenance and tasks /compliance.
- Involved with the budget implementation and maintenance planning to ensure targets can be met.
Implementation:
Overall responsibility to ensure all maintenance and repairs equipment is completed in line with plans to achieve operational targets.
Ensure safety requirements are fulfilled at the workplace, including leading Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA) and proper use of PPE.
Report all safety issues/incidents with area of responsibility.
Comply with policy procedures and other safety, environmental or other rules and standards as directed. Ensure all hazards and risks are identified, reported and eliminated.
Managing expenses in line with the Maintenance budget allocations
Reporting & Data Control:
- Ensure CMMS ( Pronto) data is captured and updated On the job training where required
- Carry out ICAM investigations if necessary and ensure any issues arising from such are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Areas of responsibility
- Mine wide infrastructure Buildings maintenance ( camps and offices)
OHL Reticulation:
- Raw water pipeline to plant and Mine dewatering boreholes
- TSF return water and TSF Discharge pipelines HDPE
- Ancillary fleet maintenance and scheduling including generators from 5kVa to 500kVA
- LV fleet maintenance
- Pit dewatering pumps owned by KGM
- Managing a contractor teams
- Provide technical support for the team, as and when required.
- Provide training and mentoring for the team (especially safety standards and procedures).
- Ensure all personnel work in accordance with local laws, KGM regulations, policies and procedures.
- Promote good behaviour.
Profil
Knowledges / Skills & Competencies:
Qualifications:
- Multi Skill Trade certificate or Diploma recognised internationally
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of maintenance related experience is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of related superintendent /Management experience
- Technical background in Mechanical/ Electrical /Instrumentation and Mobile fleet.
Technical Skills:
- Computer Literacy (MS Office packages)
