Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, he/she must ensure that the maintenance of the plant’s instrumentation is carried out
- Ensure that cost-effective maintenance of all infrastructure and associated equipment is carried out in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of infrastructure and equipment in all areas.
- Manage a multidisciplinary maintenance team consisting of camp technicians, HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers and carpenters.
- Ensure that the quality of workmanship meets the standards required on site.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of maintenance planning and preventive maintenance programmes.
- Ensure that sufficient stock levels of essential spare parts are available.
- Maintain safety, maintenance and environmental standards relating to the processing plant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work as part of management team representing Maintenance to produce high quality deliverables that meet the needs.
- Manage a multidiscipline Maintenance engineering team that includes outside services, MV LV Electrical Instrumentation Boiler making and Mechanical Maintenance
- Responsible for review, scrutiny and if required modification of scheduling activities and setting work priorities.
- Responsible for a wide range of quality reviews on all forms of maintenance
- Ensure work that is prepared under your supervision is in strict compliance with all applicable local, state and federal legislation and codes, best practice professional engineering standards compagny policies, safety codes and codes of conduct.
- Provide input to proposals, quotations, studies, design criteria, reports, preliminary designs.
- Make decisions and recommendations around the Maintenance standards, and engineering methods.
- Report engineering compliance issues within the technical specification, best practice engineering standards and prevailing legislation requirements, and make recommendations to appropriate site management for correction.
- Review, investigate and develop recommendations for the planned engineering.
- Supervise and monitor designated engineering practices for the site.
- Evaluate vendors’ bids and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment where required at the compagny.
- Provide guidance and counsel to site management on applicable programs, practices.
- Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas as related to KGM.
- Ensure SHE objectives are embodied in Maintenance Team
- Support the implementation of compagny processes, systems and practices,
- Ensure systems are being applied in Maintenance management to control and accurately monitor key deliverables and schedules.
- Ensure appropriate and qualified personnel are in place and organized in an efficient and effective manner to execute activities.
- Ensure broad or “out-of-the-box” thinking, and a culture of continuous improvement is allowed to occur with respect to project execution to maximize value.
- Ensure work product quality meets required standards through direct review and/or third-party review.
- Ensure accurate and timely progress information is provided to senior management in the form of a monthly report.
- Participate in the development and review of Project execution plans and capital estimates; and integrate new processing equipment into existing processing equipment without adversely affecting productivity.
Profil
Education
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, industrial maintenance, or any other degree deemed equivalent.
- Solid training in mechanical engineering with a good understanding of electrical engineering is an asset.
- Certificate or additional training in predictive maintenance or industrial safety (SHE) would be an asset
Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including at least 5 years in a management position on a mining site or heavy industry.
- Proven experience supervising multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, boilermaking).
- Proven experience in planning, prioritizing, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Experience in contract and subcontractor management, including vendor evaluation and technical negotiation.
- Extensive experience in infrastructure maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, pumps and structures.
- Maintenance experience in a gold processing plant is an asset
- Significant experience in the bulk material handling sector or related industry
Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
- Good knowledge of mining equipment (crushers, conveyors, pumps, compressors, etc.) and reliability procedures.
- Good understanding of SHE standards, compliance codes, and local and international regulations.
- Ability to analyze technical reports and propose continuous improvement plans.
- Good knowledge of building renovations and maintenance practices.

- Available for a Fly-In/Fly-Out program (6 weeks on-site / 3 weeks off-site).
