Role Purpose
The Process Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall maintenance function at the gold processing plant. This includes ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing plant availability, implementing preventive maintenance strategies, managing maintenance teams, and coordinating with operations to achieve production targets safely, efficiently, and within budget.
In addition will support Projects team in all plant upgrades and debottlenecking projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all process plant equipment.
- Manage Camp maintenance via staff and contractors.
- Ensure maximum plant availability and reliability to support gold production targets.
- Manage, supervise, and develop maintenance teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and planning).
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting.
- Coordinate shutdowns and major maintenance projects to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, analyze failures, and implement root cause analysis.
- Manage spare parts inventory in collaboration with the supply chain team to ensure critical parts availability while optimizing costs.
- Prepare and control the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration between processing, engineering, and HSE teams.
- Lead training and skill development programs for maintenance personnel.
Profil
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance management within mineral processing plants (preferably in gold mining or similar heavy industry).
- Proven track record in managing complex maintenance operations in a remote or mining environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, reliability-centered maintenance).
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Commitment to safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and in multicultural, remote-site contexts.
