Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventories, and the supply chain center of excellence for a company which owns several mines and permits across Africa. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods and materials, optimizing inventory levels, driving continuous improvement in supply chain processes, and auditing the current organization to amend existing policies and procedures. Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Manage sourcing, procurement processes, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing.
  • Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and operational needs.
  • Implement and manage the supply chain center of excellence to drive best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct audits of the current organization and amend existing policies and procedures to improve overall supply chain processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain operations.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards, including customs clearances.
  • Support and mentor supply chain team members.
  • Play a key role in working capital management.
  • Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Good understanding of finance and working capital management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and systems.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
