Job Description
Main objectives:
- Reporting to the Superintendent of Mineral Resources, the incumbent of this position is responsible for delineating additional reserves and resources to increase the life of Mali’s mining and processing operations.
- Update the hybrid model (resource model/GC model) for short and medium term planning.
- Provide high level geological support to the mine geology section and mining operations as required.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Assist the Superintendent of Mineral Resources in managing mineral resources and working collaboratively with the exploration and production teams
- Assist in the generation of mineral resource models for existing and new deposits
- Assist in reviewing and updating grade estimates and resource models annually or as requested by the company.
- Assist with year-end resource reporting and reconciliations (creation of depletion models).
- Assisting mining geology in optimizing grade estimation parameters and monthly reconciliations.
- Provide technical assistance in resources and reserves to mining engineering and mining geology.
- Assist in carrying out ongoing underground or other feasibility work
- Assist in managing the analytical and sample quality control process for exploration and soil survey data
- Assist in business development and evaluation of other projects.

Knowledge / Skills & Competencies:
- Mineral resource management
- Optimization of the content control system
- Geostatistical study
- Resource Reporting and Reconciliation
Training/Education Requirements:
- Geological Engineer
- Previous experience in geological and GIS database management
- Have a driving license and good driving skills.
- Experience in resource modeling with at least 5 years in a similar role
- Previous experience in Mali or West Africa
- Previous experience in modeling Birimian gold deposits.
Language requirement:
- Official language: French,
- Local language: Bambara,
- Ability to speak and write in English.
