Main function is to oversee all warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, staff management, and ensuring safety and efficiency, while also maintaining accurate records and implementing efficient systems. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintaining accurate records:

Keeping track of all incoming and outgoing products, including stock levels. 

  • Implementing inventory control systems:

Establishing and maintaining efficient systems for managing inventory, such as first-in, first-out (FIFO) or last-in, first-out (LIFO). 

  • Managing inventory levels:

Ensuring that sufficient stock is available to meet demand while avoiding overstocking. 

  • Identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies:

Investigating and correcting any discrepancies between physical inventory and recorded inventory. 

Shipping and Receiving: 

  • Overseeing the receipt of goods:

Ensuring that goods are received accurately and efficiently, and that any damage or shortages are reported.

  • Organizing the storage of goods:

Allocating space for incoming goods and ensuring that they are stored in a safe and organized manner.

  • Supervising the shipping process:

Ensuring that orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.

  • Managing transportation logistics:

Coordinating with carriers and other logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective shipping. 

Staff Management:

  • Hiring, training, and evaluating warehouse staff:

Recruiting, training, and evaluating warehouse employees to ensure that they are competent and capable of performing their duties effectively.

  • Scheduling and assigning tasks:

Creating work schedules and assigning tasks to warehouse staff in a way that ensures efficient operations.

  • Motivating and leading the team:

Creating a positive and productive work environment by motivating and leading the warehouse team.

  • Resolving conflicts and addressing performance issues:

Addressing any conflicts or performance issues that arise within the warehouse team. 

 

Safety and Efficiency: 

  • Implementing and enforcing safety protocols:

Ensuring that all warehouse employees follow safety procedures and that the warehouse is a safe working environment.

  • Ensuring compliance with regulations:

Staying up to date on all relevant regulations and ensuring that the warehouse is in compliance.

  • Identifying and implementing process improvements:

Continuously looking for ways to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Managing warehouse space:

Optimizing the use of warehouse space to maximize storage capacity and efficiency.

  • Ensuring timely deliveries:
Working with the team to ensure that all orders are fulfilled and shipped on time. 

Profil

Knowledge / Skills & Competencies:             

•              Maintenance and operational engineering background with good knowledge on planning practices in industrial plants.

•              A good working knowledge of gold process plant.

•              A good working knowledge of maintenance planning systems and Asset Management Systems, preferably PRONTO

•              Ability to analyse information and write reports using MS Office.

•              Ability to budget and forecast material and parts usage.

•              Knowledge of Warehouse operational functions, stock management and MRP processes within Material Management

•              Knowledge of Material Master Data set up, cataloguing and analysing re-order limits and parameters.

•              Exposure to all different Engineering fields with technical knowledge in all fields, as far possible.

Training / Education requirements:              

  • Licenced Electrician or Mechanical Fitter, or Engineering.

 

Experience required:         

  • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in industrial planning.

Language requirement:    

  • French and English
