FINANCE MANAGER
Job Description
The Finance Manager leads the Finance function for the Group’s Ivorian entity and is responsible for all financial management activities, including accounting, treasury, budgeting, compliance, and internal control of operations in Côte d’Ivoire. They ensure the production of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the SYSCOHADA framework, the proper execution of the annual statutory audit, and guarantee the entity’s tax and social security compliance. This is a hands-on, operational role, and they work closely with the Financial Controller and the CFO based in Perth, as well as with local operational teams. They also lead the deployment of a new accounting/ERP system and are progressively structuring the Finance function and team in preparation for the development of the mining project.
Main Missions
Accounting & closing procedures (SYSCOHADA)
- Ensure the allocation and accounting entry of all invoices for the Ivorian entity, guaranteeing correct allocation.
- Prepare monthly and annual accounts according to the SYSCOHADA framework and ensure the proper execution of the annual statutory audit.
- Manage month-end processes, monthly reconciliations, and the maintenance and review of the general ledger.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and record intragroup loan agreements
Treasury & Payments
- Prepare bank payments for the Ivorian entity and approve the monthly payroll.
- Manage the accounts payable and monitor the aging balance of accounts payable.
- Ensure control of cash flow and local payments.
Taxation, social security & regulatory compliance
- Declare and pay monthly payroll taxes and social security contributions.
- Ensure tax compliance and maintenance of exemptions (Mining Code / Investment Code); assist tax advisors with periodic declarations and manage their filing.
- Manage the registration of intragroup loan agreements (foreign parent company) and compile the files justifying the use of the financing.
- Ensure compliance with Ivorian legal and regulatory obligations (OHADA/SYSCOHADA, local content obligations).
Reporting, budgeting & management control
- Assist the CFO in preparing the budget, forecasts and variance analysis.
- Produce financial reports for the Perth headquarters.
Information Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the deployment of the new accounting/ERP tool (Pronto or Classic ERP type), in support of the Financial Controller.
- Improve the entity’s financial processes and procedures.
Management & interfaces
- Supervise the Accounting Assistant and progressively structure the Finance team in preparation for the project’s development.
- To liaise with the Procurement & Logistics Manager, the General Management, Operations / Exploration, Group Headquarters (Perth), tax advisors and external auditors.
Profile
Formation
- Advanced degree in accounting/finance (Bac +4/5).
- A qualification such as CPA, DEC/DSCG or equivalent is appreciated.
Professional experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience, ideally gained in an audit firm followed by a corporate environment. Experience in Côte d’Ivoire/West Africa is highly desirable. Experience in the mining/exploration sector or a comparable industrial environment, reporting to an international group, is an asset.
Technical skills
- Proven mastery of the SYSCOHADA accounting framework.
- Solid experience in tax and social compliance in Ivory Coast (exemptions, declarations).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience in deploying an ERP / accounting system (an asset).
- Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Behavioral skills.

LANGUAGES

Contractual information
- Residential position based in Abidjan (Ivory Coast).
- Regular travel to the Afema site (southeast of the country): approximately 2 days every 4 to 6 weeks; transport, accommodation and meals provided by the company during site visits.
